What Iris is all about…

Iris Ministries exists to help people from all walks of life discover a “next level” relationship with God that is Inspired, Real, Intimate and Sanctified.

So, what does that mean? What does a “next level” relationship with the Lord look like?

It means going beyond the surface. Beyond church services, morning devotions and Bible verses on cute coffee mugs (although, those are always fun too). It means a deeper and more intimate relationship with the Lord that you may have ever even realized was possible.

Sure, we read about people in the Bible who were “friends” of God and who knew Him intimately. But, somewhere along the way, we started believing that was something reserved for a select few and not for “us.” But, in the course of my own journey with the Lord, He not only pulled me into just such a deep and close relationship, but also showed me that it is possible for anyone who truly seeks Him with all their heart.

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” -Jeremiah 29:13 (NIV)

Instead of driving the car ourselves with God in the passenger seat (so we can check in with Him periodically and make sure we’re going the right way), it means letting Him drive the car. It means total surrender and giving Him complete control (yes, even for us control freaks) because in the end, He’s actually the One in control anyway.

A “next level” relationship means living different from the society around us, in the best kind of way. Because with this type of practical, loving, close relationship, comes a supernatural form of peace, strength and courage.

To sum up the purpose behind Iris Ministries, I believe Paul said it best:

“That you may come to know practically, through personal experience, the love of Christ which far surpasses mere knowledge (without experience), that you may be filled up throughout your being to all the fullness of God so that you may have the richest experience of God's presence in your lives, completely filled and flooded with God Himself." -Ephesians 3:19 (AMP)
