Prophecy IS Coming True! (Part Two) - The Two Witnesses!

After I released the word yesterday about what is happening right now with the election situation and the hearts of believers being exposed, the Holy Spirit kept talking and gave me another major revelation. So, I am going to share it with you exactly as it unfolded.

It started last night, when I clicked on a YouTube video by another prophetic voice that was called “The Witness Has Gone Forth” (the channel is Prophetic Drive Time! - YouTube and I highly recommend it!). Although the word he shared is very important and timely, it is totally different from what I’m about to share. So, even if you happened to watch that video, please read this word too.

As the prophet said the words, “The witness has gone forth…,” the Holy Spirit whispered to me, “the two witnesses.” As in, the two witnesses in Revelation 11.

The two witnesses of Revelation have gone forth.

Now, I’m going to break this down for you (just like He gave it to me), because there’s a lot. So, stay with me!

In Revelation 11:1, John says “I was given a measuring stick and I was told, ‘Go and measure the Temple of God and the altar, and count the number of worshipers.’” This is a cross-reference to Zechariah 4:10, where the plumb line (or measuring stick) is placed in the hand of Zerubbabel.

Zerubbabel was the governor of Judah who oversaw the rebuilding of the temple. So now, symbolically, Zerubbabel represents the “forerunners” or the those in the end-times remnant who have been anointed to govern with the Lion of Judah (Jesus) to rebuild the “temple.” This is the third temple and it is NOT a physical temple. Which is why Zechariah 4:6 says, “It is not by force nor by strength, but by my Spirit.” The “new” temple, “third” temple, final temple… is spiritual. It is the spirit of the Lord living in and through the body of believers.

So, Zechariah 4:10 says, “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.” This again, represents the “small” ministries, churches and leaders that are being risen up in this time (as the larger ones are coming down) because they are anointed by the Lord and they are “measuring” the temple of God. They are “counting” to see how many believers there actually are by exposing what it is truly in their hearts with their Spirit-led teaching, prophesying and pastoring.

Back to Revelation 11… verse 2 says, “But, do not measure the outer courtyard, for it has been turned over to the nations.” Without getting into an entirely separate teaching on the symbolism of the Tabernacle (which I will do later), it’s layout represents the journey of a believer on their relationship with the Lord.

Basically, there are 3 parts to the Tabernacle - the Outer Courtyard, the Holy Place and the Holy of Holies. In Biblical times, any Jewish person could enter the outer courtyard through the one gate that was on the east, but only priests could enter the Holy Place and only the High Priest could enter the Holy of Holies (because that is where the presence of the Lord resided - in the Ark of the Covenant). Of course, when Jesus died on the cross, the veil that was in the Holy of Holies ripped from top to bottom, representing that everyone now had access to come into the presence of the Lord.

But, symbolically, what this layout represents is the journey of a believer. When they first believe and accept Jesus as their Savior, they enter the outer courtyard through the east gate (which represents Jesus). If they continue on in their relationship with Him, they progress to the Holy Place, where they allow Him to transform them and they go through the refining fires to surrender their self-will and take on His. And finally, they come to the Holy of Holies, where they live in Him and abide continually in His presence. But, unfortunately, many believers in the Body of Christ don’t ever progress beyond their initial salvation decision and remain instead in the “outer courtyard.”

So, this is what John is referring to in Revelation 11:2, when the Lord tells him not to measure the outer courtyard because it has been turned over to the nations. He is telling him not to count them as part of the Temple of God because they have been turned over to the nations - meaning, they have become like the world - and they are not part of the real Temple of God. (Yikes.)

Let’s continue…

Rev. 11:2-3 goes on to say, “They (the nations) will trample the holy city for 42 months. And I will give power to my two witnesses and they will be clothed in burlap (or sackcloth) and will prophesy during those 1,260 days.”

Forty-two months and 1,260 days both represent the same thing - 3 1/2 years - and it is not literal. Symbolically, seven represents a complete period of time. So, 3 1/2 represents the middle or halfway point of a particular period of time.

This verse is what has been happening up til now! The nations (the world) have been “trampling” the Holy City as the “two witnesses” (who are dressed in sackcloth as a sign of submission and humility) have been prophesying.

Now, let me stop to explain who the “two witnesses” are before I finish tying all this together.

Rev. 11:4 says, “These two prophets are the two olive trees and the two lampstands that stand before the Lord of all the earth.” Again, this is another cross-reference to Zechariah 4.

In Zechariah 4:2-3, the prophet says, “I see a golden lampstand with a bowl of oil on top of it. Around the bowl are seven lamps, each having seven sprouts with wicks. And I see two olive trees, one of each side of the bowl.” The golden lampstand represents Jesus’ Church and the bowl of oil on top is the anointing of the Holy Spirit. While the seven lamps with seven sprouts with wicks represent the seven spirits of God and as Jesus explains in Zech. 4:10, “[His] eyes that search all around the world.”

But, here’s the really important part… when Zechariah asks the Lord what the two olive trees are with the branches that pour out golden oil through gold tubes, He says, “They represent the two anointed ones who stand in the court of the Lord of all the earth” (Zech. 4:14). Exactly like Revelation 11:4.

The two prophets in Revelation 11 are the two olive trees in Zechariah 4. So, who are they? Let’s jump ahead to Zechariah 6 for the answer.

Zechariah 6 tells us of the crowning of Jeshua the high priest, who represents Jesus (Yeshua). He is the high priest. Verses 12-13 say, “This is what the Lord of Heavens’ Armies says, ‘Here is the man called the Branch. He will branch out from where he is and build the Temple of the Lord. Yes, He will build the Temple of the Lord. Then he will receive royal honor and will rule as king from his throne. He will also serve as priest from this throne and there will be perfect harmony between his two roles.”

Jesus is the branch. “A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit” (Isaiah 11:1). (And the very next verse - Is. 11:2 - describes the seven spirits of God.) And when we are IN HIM, we are a branch as well. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing" (John 15:5).

And He will rule as king and serve as priest, and there will be perfect harmony between his two roles.

These are the two witnesses - KING (as represented by Zerubbabel) and PRIEST (as represented by Jeshua). In fact, the amplified version of Zech. 4:14 says it outright! “Then he said, “These are the two sons of fresh oil [Joshua the high priest and Zerubbabel the prince of Judah] who are standing by the Lord of the whole earth [as His anointed ones].”

The two witnesses are the two demonstrations of Jesus living through His people - the spiritual temple! A “witness” in Biblical terms is the confirmation or evidence of something. And we - the remnant, the spiritual Temple of God - bare witness to the truth of Christ when we walk in the two roles He gave us - king and priest!

“And from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” -Revelation 1:5-6

So again, back to Revelation 11 where we left off with these two witnesses prophesying for 1,260 days… they are the true prophets of God who have prophesying during this time period. “If anyone tries to harm them, fire flashes from their mouths and consumes their enemies” (vs. 5) - they carry the Holy Spirit fire of God in their words. And “They have power to shut the sky so that no rain will fall for as long as they prophesy” (vs. 6) - they carry the spirit of Elijah! (Like I mentioned in part one yesterday.)

“When they complete their testimony, the beast that comes up out of the bottomless pit will declare war against them and he will conquer them and kill them. And their bodies will lie in the main street of Jerusalem, the city that is figuratively called “Sodom” and “Egypt,” the city where their Lord was crucified.” -Revelation 11:7-8

This is describing what is happening right now. The enemy has been allowed to “conquer” and “kill” these witnesses who have been prophesying and right now they appear to be “dead.” All of the prophetic voices who have been declaring the true word of the Lord appear to be defeated right now and are lying “in the street” for everyone to gawk at. Jerusalem, which should be the city of the Lord, has been turned into “Sodom” by their wickedness or “Egypt” by their mixing in with the world and right now, resembles the place were Jesus was crucified because the people didn’t recognize Him when He was working among them. Just like right now.

“And for three and a half days, all peoples, tribes, languages and nations will stare at their bodies. No one will be allowed to bury them. All the people who belong to this world will gloat over them and give presents to each other to celebrate the death of the two prophets who had tormented them.” -Revelation 11:9-10

Again, this is what we are seeing right now. The entire world is watching. And everyone is looking at these prophets who prophesied the opposite of what everyone is seeing in the natural right now, so they are left exposed and vulnerable. (Which is why some are now retreating and backtracking.) And all the people that belong to this world are gloating and celebrating right now because they think they’ve won.

But God.

“But after three and a half days, God breathed life into them and they stood up! Terror struck all who were staring at them. Then a loud voice from heaven called to the two prophets, ‘Come up here!’ And they rose to heaven in a cloud as their enemies watched.” -Revelation 11:11-12

Just when everything appears to be over and the prophets/witnesses of God appear to be “dead,” God moves as only He can. And not only will life be given back to them, but all those who are watching will be struck with fear (the fear and trembling I described in yesterday’s word).

The witnesses will ascend into their positions and be exalted by God in the presence of their enemies. And revival will happen.

Hallelujah!

The last part that I felt the Holy Spirit wanted to share is this from Revelation 12. In verses 7-9 it describes a war in heaven where Archangel Michael and his angels are fighting the dragon (Satan) and his angels and they defeat him. And as a result, they are forced out of heaven and thrown down to earth.

I believe this is what we are seeing right now as we are seeing the devil and his army on full display in our natural world. But, verses 10-11 say, “It has come at least - salvation and power and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down to earth - the one who accuses them before our God day and night. And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony. And they did not love their lives so much that they were afraid to die.”

This is the time we are in - it has come at last. The enemy has been thrown down to earth, but the Kingdom of God and authority of Christ have come and we have already defeated him by the blood of Christ. The remnant, who are completely surrendered and submitted to Him, do not love their lives more than Him and they are the ones who defeat the enemy.

“Therefore, rejoice, O heavens! And you who live in the heavens, rejoice! But, terror will come on the earth and the sea, for the devil has come down to you in great anger, knowing that he has little time.” -Revelation 12:12

This is the “darkness” that I’ve talked about before that will happen in the world as a result of God moving on behalf of His people. So again, it will simultaneously be “the best of times” and “the worst of times,” depending on if you are in Christ or if you are in the world. Because even though there will be a great revival and turning back of hearts when God moves, there will also be a great backlash of darkness in the world because the enemy is not happy.

In verses 13-14, the dragon pursues the woman (the Body of Christ), but she is given wings like an eagle and flies away to a place that is prepared for her in the wilderness, where she is cared for and protected from the dragon for a time, times and half a time. This again, refers to 3 1/2 years. Which again, is symbolic for half of a particular prophetic time period.

So, this refers to the “second half” of this time period - this “pause” that God has given us with the sound of His final “trumpet” to get back into true covenant with Him before He removes His hand and lets lawlessness take over completely.

Which leads us to Revelation 13 where the stuff really hits the fan with the beast being allowed to wage war on God’s people and conquer them, the introduction of the mark of the beast and all that other stuff.

But, the reason I felt like He wanted me to include this is so we can know where we are in the scheme of things. We are only halfway through. It is not over. The enemy is trying to jump the gun, but it is not his time yet.

Everything the Lord has spoken is still coming to pass. He is still giving His Church a “window” of time to get their hearts right and re-consecrate themselves to Him. To get into REAL covenant with Him, to come out of the world and into freedom. And to start walking in the true authority and power of Christ.

Things may look like they’re “over” right now. The two witnesses may appear to be dead in the street right now, while our enemies gloat and celebrate.

But, God’s coming in to do what only He can do in a way that only He can do it. He is restoring the fear of the Lord to the Church and to those in the world that can see.

He isn’t coming for a healing. He’s coming for a resurrection.

The Church is about to be brought back to life!
